Last Wednesday, we kicked off Mental Health Month with our Annual Client Art Exhibit, showcasing our client’s artistic abilities and empowering them with a voice through art.
More than 125 children and their families attended the event to view the artwork, which lined the walls of our Long Beach headquarters, enjoyed a delicious dinner catered by Tacos Chihuahua and painted a mural together!
This year’s Client Art Exhibit theme, “Celebrating You,” focused on celebrating diversity and each clients’ unique character traits as a way for them to visually share their stories. Clients in preschool through 12th grade submitted original artwork in three subcategories: Self-Portrait, My Favorite Thing About Myself, and What Makes Me Unique.
Children who attended were also able to participate in the creation of a large canvas mural that furthered celebrated the beauty of each person’s unique qualities and illustrated the masterpiece that is created when individuals come together as a community.
We thank our young artists for participating and for sharing their talents with us. We would also like to thank our board members who donated gift baskets to the exhibit which were given away to eight lucky families! A special thanks to the staff who helped make this inspiring event possible.
