The Guidance Center is excited to be one of 222+ nonprofit organizations participating in the fourth annual online giving event, Long Beach Gives! Set for Thursday, September 22, 2022, this citywide movement is a 24-hour day dedicated to help raise awareness about nonprofits and the important role they play in our community.
This year through Long Beach Gives, we are raising funds for our It’s About T.I.M.E. (Trauma-Informed Movement in Education) program. The education system has been hit very hard by the pandemic. Staff and students have endured two plus years of physical and emotional burnout and feelings of frustration, resentment, and hopelessness. A large area of focus for It’s About T.I.M.E. consultants during the pandemic has been supporting staff. The need for this lens has been unmistakably apparent. Students returned to in-person instruction last fall extremely dysregulated, many from living in unsafe conditions, others from forgetting or never knowing what school structure is like, and others feeling hopelessly behind and lost academically. This past school year, we have supported those who have needed it the most and helped them through to the other side with hope and reassurance that we all will be okay.

- Attend! Join us for a Long Beach Gives Kick-Off Event at Trademark Brewing on 9/8 benefiting The Guidance Center’s Trauma-Informed Movement in Education at LBUSD schools! Your support will help students, teachers and staff in the Long Beach Unified School District – get your tickets today!
- Fundraise! Become a Peer Fundraiser for The Guidance Center! Create your own personal fundraising page for friends and family to donate to on September 22nd. All you need is your name and email address to get started. While early fundraising starts September 15th, you can get a head start and create your page today.
- Give! Make your own personal donation to The Guidance Center through Long Beach Gives on September 22nd or give early. Early giving starts September 15th.
- Share! Help spread the word by sharing your Peer Fundraising page with family and friends. Not only can you ask them to support you with a donation but you can also encourage them to set up their own Peer Fundraising page on behalf of The Guidance Center.
