Long Beach Gives was held just last week! As a returning nonprofit, The Guidance Center was excited to join over 270 nonprofits in this citywide crowdfunding campaign to bolster community support and raise funds for an important cause.
Impact & Funds Raised
This year, our agency was committed to raising funds for a new project that is dear to our hearts. Through an incredibly generous lead gift, The Guidance Center will be building a Family Resource Center (FRC) at our Long Beach headquarters. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between wellness and specialty mental health services, providing vital linkages to basic needs and resources.
Thanks to our generous supporters like you, we raised over $45,000 during Long Beach Gives to help benefit the FRC.
Whether you created a peer-fundraising campaign, shared our social posts, or donated to our cause, we appreciate all your contributions to the FRC initiative. We would also like to extend a special thank you not those who went above and beyond for this campaign.
Mental Health Champions for Long Beach Gives
For the first year ever, we announced corporate sponsorship opportunities for our Long Beach Campaign, enlisting three sensational organizations to champion our cause. Our friends at First Bank, McCarty’s Jewelry, and The Friese Foundation each showed support and advocacy through $1,000 donations. We are grateful for their contributions. We are deeply grateful for their commitment to the children and families we serve.
Power of Peer-Fundraisers
It is no secret that fundraising takes work!
We applaud every individual or group who created a peer fundraising page this year in support of The Guidance Center. We would also like to share a special round of applause for those who not only made a peer page but also exceeded their fundraising goals. For Long Beach Gives 2024, we are delighted to share that we had 20 peer pages comprised of Guidance Center staff, board members, and volunteers. It was through a collaborative effort that our agency was awarded a prize for having the “Most Unique Donors” during Long Beach Gives.
- Guidance Center staff raised nearly $8,000 to support our campaign.
- Ten board members created peer pages this year, raising close to $25,000.
- One long-time friend of The Guidance Center created a peer page, fundraising nearly $8,500 to aid to our Family Resource Center initiative.
We commend all of our peer fundraisers for their dedication to community mental health and support for The Guidance Center. By sharing within their networks, they have increased visibility for the FRC initiative and secured funds that will provide essential services and resources for families in Long Beach. Every donation makes a difference! Whether it’s only ten dollars or over a thousand, all of these contributions will fund family game nights, nutrition workshops, a computer lab for clients, and so much more!
