We are excited to announce a new Privately Hosted Instructor Training on Youth Mental Health First Aid. This training will prepare individuals to become certified Youth Mental Health First Aid Instructors. Instructors are required to teach the Youth Mental Health First Aid training course at least three times per year, and teach from a national curriculum, tailor discussions to their participants and compile a list of local resources for help. This training will help us increase our impact and greater our reach of helping children and their families struggling with mental illness and abuse.
WHAT IS MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID?
Mental Health First Aid is a course that teaches how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. The training gives the skills needed to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis.
WHY SHOULD I BECOME AN INSTRUCTOR?
Instructors are individuals certified to teach the course in their communities and beyond. They are the key to spreading Mental Health First Aid across the country. Instructors are on the frontlines of the program and train people in their communities in Mental Health First Aid.
